Germany confronts rising drone and space security threats from foreign actors

Germany is facing growing security threats from both air and space. Unauthorised drones are being spotted almost daily, raising concerns about espionage and sabotage. Meanwhile, military disruptions in space by foreign powers have surged, putting critical systems at risk.

The German government has warned that many of the unauthorised drones flying over the country and Europe are likely linked to state actors, particularly Russia. These drones have caused repeated airport closures and prompted fears of espionage or even attacks. In response, the Bundeswehr may soon receive legal authority to shoot down suspicious drones under the proposed Air Security Act. The exact command structure for these operations, however, remains unclear.

The German military is preparing for stronger measures against drone threats, while space-based disruptions pose an ongoing challenge. The release of the Epstein files could soon provide new details on a controversial case. Meanwhile, the approved motorway expansion marks a long-awaited step forward for local infrastructure, and the 'FairPlay 2030' initiative continues to promote safer sports environments.
