Cold weather is set to grip Germany in the coming days. The German Weather Service (DWD) has warned of dropping temperatures and fresh snowfall across several regions. Forecasters predict a sharp chill, with overnight lows already dipping to between -2 and -5 degrees Celsius by Wednesday morning. Light snow is expected in northern areas overnight into Wednesday. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will see continued snowfall during this period. By Thursday night, temperatures will fall further, reaching as low as -9 degrees Celsius. The cold snap will then intensify over the weekend, with daytime highs struggling to rise above -6 degrees Celsius. A more widespread snowfall is forecast for Friday and Saturday. The wintry conditions are likely to affect travel and daily routines in many parts of the country. The DWD has issued warnings as the cold spell takes hold. Snow and freezing temperatures will persist through the weekend, with little sign of a thaw. Residents are advised to prepare for icy conditions and possible disruptions.
