Toss a few darts at the board and watch the Germans take over - that's the story for Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko, who are dominating the World Cup of Darts in their home turf, Frankfurt.

They've already knocked out Portugal (4-2) and Singapore (4-0), with the latter match handed to them courtesy of a 71-year-old veteran, Paul Lim. Now, they're set to face England, the tournament's heavyweight contenders, in the Round of 16.

In the drawn match before the night's end, the young German duo faced off against Singapore's veterans. Pietreczko, acknowledging Lim's status as a darts legend, hailed the 35-year-old Phuay Wei Tan as well. With another win under their belt, both Pietreczko and the relatively younger Schindler cemented their position in the round of 16 as group winners.

Come Saturday, the reigning champions England, led by the World Champion Luke Littler, along with Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and other top nations, will strut their stuff. These teams received byes for the round and will be vying for the £80,000 prize.

While Germany had to vie for their opening, Glen Durrant in Scotland found himself with an equally challenging opponent - the Netherlands. These high-stakes matches will set the stage for the tournament's continuation.
