Drivers and pedestrians in Baden-Württemberg, don't overlook caution on the roads from now till the weekend. The German Weather Service (DWD) in Stuttgart has foretold snow and slippery conditions, with Saturday and the south-eastern half of the state likely to be hit the hardest. However, snowfall isn't exclusive to Saturday. Thursdays and Fridays will also see some flurries. South of the Swabian Alb, freezing rain with black ice may persist until Friday morning, causing potential hazards.

In the south, up to 15 centimeters of snow may accumulate in congested areas of the Upper Black Forest and in the Allgäu by Friday. Meanwhile, a few centimeters of snow could pile up in the more northerly parts of the country above around 200 meters above sea level by Friday afternoon.

Merge into the mainstream temperatures on Saturday will hover between 0 and -4 degrees, resulting in most of the snow staying in the higher lowlands and mountains. The heaviest precipitation will be in the south-east, the Allgäu, and Upper Swabia. The Rhine will mostly remain snow-free.

Stay alert on Sunday night. However, signs of potential danger might emerge during the day. As the temperature rises in some regions during the day and plummets below zero at night, freezing wet conditions might be expected, primarily in Upper Swabia, on the Upper Rhine, on the Neckar, and in Kraichgau.

Oddly enough, Sunday seems to bring a glimmer of hope with mostly dry weather, according to the meteorologist. In some places, the sun could even make a rare appearance, making for an enjoyable yet chilly day. Highs will be -3 degrees in the Allgäu, while the Rhine could reach up to +4 degrees. In the Black Forest and especially around the Feldberg, however, citizens must brace for strong winds, as suggested by the DWD website.

Stay updated and prepared for any weather conditions using reliable weather forecasting websites, local news sources, and road authority websites. Follow general precautions, such as slowing down, leaving space, and ensuring your vehicle is equipped for winter conditions to guarantee safe driving experiences during the cold front crossing Baden-Württemberg.
