The film also explores the history of a character named Abraham and his connection to Dracula, revealing a terrible and terrifying legacy linked to Dracula’s story. This film is based on a short story that delves into this legacy.

Directed by Luc Besson, known for "The Fifth Element," the film is a remake of Bram Stoker's classic vampire novel. Besson wrote the script specifically for Caleb Landry Jones, who portrays the title role in "Dracula - The Resurrection." Jones, a 25-year-old actor known for playing psychopaths, brings a fresh and captivating interpretation to the iconic character.

Christoph Waltz, aged 68, plays a priest in the film, similar to Doctor Van Helsing in Bram Stoker's novel and various adaptations. Waltz also voices his own German dub in the film.
