German prodigy secured by Liverpool after dominant victories over rivals

Liverpool FC has just made a jaw-dropping move, securing a high-profile signing that's got fans buzzing. The latest recruit, a rising midfield star, has been dubbed as one of the hottest properties in football by journalists and experts alike.

Initially, this young gun was targeted by heavyweights Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but he opted for a different route.

The talented Florian Wirtz decided to ditch Bayern Munich and set sail for Liverpool. According to industry insider Fabrizio Romano, the deal is all but done. The transfer fee for Wirtz is rumored to be a cool €137.5 million, although the details are yet to be officially announced.

And it's not just a wild rumor - Fabrizio Romano is a trusted name in the world of football.

A Huge but Not Unprecedented Transfer

The price tag on this deal is certainly impressive - €137.5 million. In recent times, even the wealthiest clubs have learned to tighten their purse strings and rarely dish out such hefty sums, even for superstars.

While this transfer will set a new British record, it doesn't quite make it into the top three most expensive in history. That honor goes to French club PSG, who paid a staggering €222 million for Neymar and €180 million for Kylian Mbappé.

Interestingly, PSG managed to clinch the Champions League after both Neymar and Mbappé departed Paris.

  1. Florian Wirtz, the high-profile midfield recruit, has chosen to depart from European-leagues heavyweight Bayern Munich and will join Liverpool FC instead, marking a significant transfer in the Premier-league.
  2. Despite the impressive €137.5 million transfer fee for Florian Wirtz, it falls short of breaking the top three most expensive transfers in history, with Paris Saint-Germain holding those records with the purchases of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.
