German Police Uncover Illegal Arms Cache in Kazakh Man’s Basement Workshop

German police have seized a cache of homemade and factory-made weapons from a 59-year-old Kazakh man in Remscheid. Konstantin I., the suspect, is believed to have operated an illegal weapons trafficking ring with two other men.

The haul included a homemade sawn-off shotgun, converted from a 20-gauge IZh-18E hunting rifle. Police also found 34 live ammunition cartridges compatible with the shotgun. Out of 18 seized items, 17 are classified as cold weapons, with 11 being homemade replicas of historical and military designs. These include a 1907-pattern soldier’s bollock dagger and a 1936 SS officer’s dagger. Additionally, two factory-made weapons were recovered: a Moscow Society of Hunters and Fishermen hunting knife and a Stell Will 131M Sentence tactical knife. Notably, a Soviet 1940-model military knife from World War II was also among the seized items.

The weapons were discovered in the basement of Konstantin I.'s auto repair shop in late October 2025. The suspect and his alleged accomplices, aged 34 and 37, are under investigation for illegal weapons trafficking.

The seized weapons, including the homemade shotgun and replica historical weapons, highlight the seriousness of the alleged illegal activity. Police continue to investigate the suspected weapons trafficking ring, with Konstantin I. and his alleged accomplices facing potential charges.
