Hey there!

On April 4th, a delightful shindig took place at the Europa-Park Arena, as the Radio Regenbogen Awards marked their silver jubilee. Over a thousand guests from Germany and beyond, hailing from the realms of entertainment and music, gathered to celebrate the occasion.

A Symbol of Cologne Rock and More

BAP founding father, Wolfgang Niedecken (74), was the star of the night. He accepted the Lifetime Achievement award, symbolizing his list of accomplishments in music that includes a reputation for Cologne rock, profound lyrics, and ceaseless dedication. In a heartfelt statement, Niedecken was praised as more than just a musician. He was hailed as a chronicler, an artist, a socially-conscious individual, and one who isn't afraid to challenge the status quo. The honor was bestowed upon him by his buddy, Hannes Ringlstetter.

A Podium for Rising Stars and Recognized Talents

At the Radio Regenbogen Awards, a tradition prevails – winners personally collect their well-deserved accolades. This year was no exception, and there were many reasons for the attendees to cheer. In the international newcomer category, Mark Ambor triumphed, while FAST BOY shone bright in the national newcomer category. The Voice champion Milow dazzled the audience, with Sophie and the Giants lighting up the pop international category. Florian Schroeder made crowds laugh as the comedy champion, while ISAAK and Nico Santos received the national pop and national artist awards, respectively. Michael "Bully" Herbig bagged the media man award, Barbara Schöneberger took home the media woman accolade, and CYRIL's "Why" was deemed Song of the Year.

A Bash Filled with Glimpses of the Past

Comedienne Mirja Boes (53) energetically hosted the event, which started with a bang – guests were treated to surprise video greetings from previous winners, such as the Pet Shop Boys and Peter Maffay!
