German Military Band Performs Live in Kamp-Lintfort
On Thursday, September 4, 2025, Kamp-Lintfort's Zechenpark will host a Mega-Party to celebrate the city's 75th anniversary. As part of the festivities, the Big Band of the Bundeswehr will be performing, bringing with them four semi-trailers and a large stage to provide an unforgettable musical experience.
The Big Band of the Bundeswehr, founded in 1971 by then-Defense Minister Helmut Schmidt, is renowned for its energetic performances of swing, rock, and pop classics. This concert in Kamp-Lintfort promises to be no exception, with the band arriving equipped with up to 70 tons of equipment. The stage, measuring around ten meters tall and one of the largest trailer stages in Europe, will ensure great sound and a visually impressive setup at the Quartiersplatz in the Zechenpark.
The Big Band of the Bundeswehr's concert will be the highlight of the day, beginning at 8 PM. However, the entertainment will start earlier with a small warm-up program commencing at 6 PM. During this warm-up, visitors can enjoy a small children's program, food and drink stands, and street musicians and walking acts to keep the atmosphere lively.
Visitors at the Kamp-Lintfort concert will be asked for a cash donation on-site. The money collected will be donated to the Verein zur Förderung von Kultur und Bildung Kamp-Lintfort, the Kamp-Lintfort Tafel, and the Kinderhilfsfonds of the Grafschafter Diakonie. Pre-event donations can be made via the culture association's account with the reference "Spende BIGBAND".
Over 70 people will ensure optimal conditions for the performance of the 25 musicians, making this a truly collaborative effort. This concert will be the last one under the leadership of Timor Oliver Chadik, making it an extra special occasion.
