Marco Sturm's post-playing career began as the head coach of the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) in 2015. In 2018, his passionate guidance led the national team to a spectacular silver medal at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. With an impressive tenure, Sturm moved back to the States within the year to serve as assistant coach for the Los Angeles Kings. More recently, he took charge as head coach of the Ontario Reign (the farm team for the franchise from California) in 2022.
Currently, Sturm takes a trip down memory lane to the East Coast. His NHL journey includes stints with multiple teams, including the Bruins, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, Vancouver Canucks, and Florida Panthers before his last stop at the Cologne Sharks in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in 2012/13.
