Green Minister Questions Federal Reform Course - German Green Minister Slams Coalition’s Economic Reform Failures

Green Party Minister Danyal Bayaz has publicly criticised the federal government’s reform plans. He argues that current proposals fail to address Germany’s pressing economic challenges. His remarks come as the coalition of SPD, Greens, and FDP faces growing scrutiny over its policy direction.

Bayaz warned that the government is relying on outdated ideas from its coalition agreement. He claimed these plans do not match the urgency of today’s economic pressures. His concerns extend to reforms in pension policy, including the SPD’s proposed Bürgerrente (citizen’s pension) and the suspension of the debt brake.

Bayaz’s intervention puts pressure on the coalition to rethink its economic policies. His call for a bolder, long-term plan reflects concerns about Germany’s declining competitiveness. The government now faces questions over whether its reforms will be enough to stabilise the economy.
