German football institutions DFB and the Football Museum issue invitations to all German football clubs to participate in events taking place in Dortmund
German Football Association and German Football Museum Invite Amateur and Youth Teams for a Free Visit
In celebration of the double jubilee - 125 years of the German Football Association (DFB) and ten years of the German Football Museum - all 140,000 football teams organized by the DFB are invited for a free visit to the museum in Dortmund.
This initiative, supported by ambassadors such as Rudi Völler and Nia Künzer, aims to recognise the tireless and voluntary efforts at the base of football. Völler, a former national player, emphasises that amateur teams are the backbone of German football, while Künzer expresses gratitude to teams that promote integration, create a sense of belonging, and provide support to young people.
The German Football Museum, which is expected to have over two million visitors by its tenth birthday in the autumn, offers an emotional journey through sports history. With 1,600 exhibits, 25 hours of film material, and large-scale stagings, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of German football.
Highlight exhibits from Netzer's career with Borussia Mönchengladbach and Real Madrid guide visitors through the show, creating a large-scale experience. The current special exhibition, "NETZER - THE SEVENTIES," celebrates football icon Günter Netzer and the golden football era of the seventies, immersing visitors in the sound of the era through film, photography, and large-scale experiences.
To secure a visit, teams are advised to book in advance due to capacity limits in the exhibitions. On the day of the visit, the reservation confirmation and player passes (physical or digital) are required to identify and register at the counter in the museum foyer.
Amateur and youth teams can register for the free visit by following the specific registration procedures set by the DFB. While the exact registration process for this free visit in connection with the DFB’s double jubilee celebration has not been explicitly detailed, it is likely that registrations will be organized through official DFB channels or the German Football Museum's website.
For more information, teams are encouraged to check the DFB website and communications for announcements related to the double jubilee event. They can also visit the German Football Museum’s official ticket or event page to find links or forms for group bookings or special event registrations. Direct inquiry to event organizers is also advisable since the special free visit is likely a limited-time offer linked to the jubilee.
The joint action with the museum shows appreciation for the valuable base of amateur football and the football family. Manuel Neukirchner, director of the German Football Museum, explains that the action is a way to give back and thank everyone for 125 years of football love.
