Customs Seize Tonnes of Counterfeit Children's Bed Linen - German customs seizes 15 tons of fake children's bedding in major bust

German customs officials have seized over 15 tons of counterfeit children's bedding at the Garching-Hochbrück inspection point. The shipment contained unauthorized images from popular children's films, TV programs, and football club logos. In total, the counterfeit products infringed on the rights of 47 brands, with 28 linked to entertainment companies and the rest to sports organizations. Some of the products also failed to meet EU textile labeling standards, posing potential risks to young consumers and intellectual property holders. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the importer responsible for the shipment. This case underscores ongoing efforts to combat unsafe and illegal counterfeit goods entering the market. Officials will continue examining the seized goods as part of the investigation, and the importer now faces potential legal consequences for trademark violations and safety breaches.
