German Court Hands Jian G. 4-Year Prison Sentence for Espionage
A German court has ruled that the espionage activities of Jian G., a former aide to AfD politician Maximilian Krah, were particularly severe. The Higher Regional Court of Dresden handed down the verdict, sentencing Jian G. to four years and nine months in prison.
Jian G., who worked as an aide to Maximilian Krah between 2019 and 2024, was found guilty of passing sensitive information to Chinese authorities. This information included details about Chinese dissidents, German military shipments, political parties, and even the AfD itself. The court deemed these activities to be a significant threat to Germany's national security.
During his time in the AfD, Jian G. collected information and partially confidential documents, which he then passed on to Chinese authorities. His actions were discovered and investigated by German intelligence services, leading to his arrest and subsequent conviction.
The Higher Regional Court of Dresden has sent a clear message with this verdict. Espionage activities will not be tolerated, and those found guilty will face severe consequences. Jian G.'s actions have put Germany's security at risk, and his imprisonment reflects the seriousness of his crimes.
