German Climbers Rescued After Night Stranded on Großglockner’s Treacherous Ridge

Two German climbers were rescued by helicopter after becoming stranded on Großglockner’s Stüdl Ridge. The pair, aged 20 and 19, called for help at around 4:25 p.m. when descending in the dark proved too risky. Both remained unharmed throughout the ordeal. The climbers began their ascent the day before, aiming to conquer the challenging Stüdl Ridge. They spent the previous night in a bivouac shelter at Stüdl Hut before continuing early the next morning. The operation concluded successfully, with no injuries reported. The climbers were returned to the valley after their attempt on the Stüdl Ridge was cut short. Authorities have not released further details on the incident.
