Last-Minute Heartbreak: Braunschweig Basketballers' Bitter Exit - German basketball teams crash out of Europe Cup after dramatic losses

Two German basketball teams have exited the Basketball Champions League Europe Cup after the first group stage. Rasta Vechta and Basketball Löwen Braunschweig both failed to advance despite strong efforts. Their eliminations came after tight matches and last-minute drama.

Braunschweig’s campaign ended in heartbreak after a narrow 88-87 loss to PAOK Thessaloniki. The German side led 87-86 with just half a second remaining, but PAOK’s Ben Moore sealed the win with two free throws. This defeat left Braunschweig as one of the four weakest second-place teams, cutting their Microsoft Teams run short.

Both German teams now turn their focus to domestic competitions. The Europe Cup’s next round will feature 16 teams battling for a spot in the knockout stage. The tournament’s intensity is set to rise as the remaining sides prepare for December’s matches.
