Georgia's IT boom creates jobs and record revenue in 2025

Georgia's information and communication sector saw rapid expansion in 2025. The industry grew by 28.7%, becoming one of the country's fastest-growing fields. This surge brought in record revenue and created thousands of new jobs. The sector's workforce expanded significantly over four years. In 2021, around 30,600 people worked in information and communications. By 2025, that number had risen to 54,500. Many of these new workers came from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, boosting the industry's talent pool.

Revenue from the IT sector also climbed sharply. In 2025, external earnings reached $1.15 billion—a 67% jump from the previous year. This increase added roughly $459 million more than the total recorded in 2024. Wages in the sector remained well above the national average. By the final quarter of 2025, IT professionals earned an average monthly salary of GEL 4,433. This made the industry the highest-paying in Georgia.

The growth in Georgia's IT and communications sector has led to more jobs and higher earnings. With revenue rising by over two-thirds in a single year, the industry now plays a major role in the country's economy. The influx of skilled workers from neighbouring countries has helped drive this rapid expansion.
