Georgia Tech, ranked 18th, strives to dodge an ambush in its home game against Temple's visiting team.

Temple, currently standing at a 2-1 record, is gearing up for a challenging encounter against No. 18 Georgia Tech. This will be the second consecutive AP ranked opponent for the Owls, following their loss to then-No. 13 Oklahoma last week.

For Temple, the coach, K.C. Keeler, has acknowledged the need for improvement after the loss to Oklahoma. Particularly, the team's offense, which totalled only 105 yards in the last game, will need to step up to compete against Georgia Tech.

The upcoming game marks the second meeting between the two schools, with Temple having won the previous encounter 24-2 in 2019. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech is riding high on the back of a significant victory over then-No. 12 Clemson.

Georgia Tech's defense shone in the Clemson game, while their offense managed one of their biggest wins in recent memory. However, the team was fined $50,000 for fan behavior following the Clemson game.

Georgia Tech's head coach, Brent Key, previously served as Nick Saban's offensive line coach at Alabama from 2016-18. The team's current goal is not just to win Game 3 or 4; they are aiming for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and potentially the College Football Playoff.

The game will take place in Atlanta, and Temple's second-year starting quarterback, Evan Simon, will be looking to bounce back from a performance where he was held to just 75 passing yards against Oklahoma. Simon has thrown for nine touchdowns and no interceptions in three games so far this season.

The schools have a history, with former Temple and Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins featuring in the game in question. Georgia Tech is currently ranked No. 18, making this a crucial match for both teams.

Temple will be facing another top 20 opponent on the road, a challenge they will undoubtedly be preparing for diligently. The outcome of this match could significantly impact both teams' seasons, as they continue their pursuit of the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and potentially a spot in the College Football Playoff.
