Today, Tokayev personally welcomed Meloni at the capital's airport, marking the commencement of her visit to Kazakhstan. In their conversation at the airport, the president expressed optimism about the upcoming talks, stating they would significantly impact the bilateral relationship.

The ceremonial welcoming ceremony was also shared by Akorda, following which the discussions took place. Throughout the talks, Meloni praised Tokayev as one of the most pragmatic leaders.

Tokayev put forth a proposal for establishing branches of Italian universities in Kazakhstan and addressed ongoing trade disputes globally. The president regards Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as a prominent political figure of the current era. A photo of Meloni wearing a chapani was also shared by Akorda.

In the culmination of her visit, Tokayev, the leaders of Central Asian countries, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni signed a joint declaration at the summit in Astana.

Italy, being Kazakhstan's third-largest trade partner globally and the largest in Europe, places strategic importance on strengthening its partnership with Kazakhstan, viewing it as a crucial player in Central Asia.
