The 15th edition of the Locarno Pro Awards, held on Sunday, 10 August 2025, recognised and celebrated outstanding film projects from around the world. This year's winners included projects from Austria, Switzerland, Canada, and Italy, with a range of awards offering post-production services, music supervision, and financial support.

First Look Awards Shine the Spotlight

Two projects stood out in the First Look Awards category. Geneviève Dulude-De Celles' Nina Roza won both the Urban Post First Look Award and the Jannuzzi Smith Award. The Urban Post First Look Award offers post-production support up to CHF 50,000, while the Jannuzzi Smith Award provides €10,000 for the design of an international poster. Meanwhile, Irene Bartolomé's Dream Of Another Summer won the Antaviana Films First Look Award, which supports post-production services worth €50,000.

Notable Winners and Their Projects

Simon Maria Kubiena's debut feature The Flowering Of A Chimera won the Alphapanda Market Breakout Award, securing consultancy services worth €3,500. Portuguese-Swiss filmmaker-actress Jenna Hasse received an additional special award - CHF10,000 worth of postproduction services - for her second feature Snow. Hasse will be reunited with Oliver Zobrist for her upcoming project, who previously produced her debut Longing For The World, which premiered at the Berlinale in 2023.

Nick Butler's second feature Lunar Sway won the Cineground Award, worth CHF15,000 of image finishing services. Adrià Guxens' hybrid documentary Lóngquána: The Dragon Spring won the Antaviana Spanish Previews Award worth €10,000. Goran Rebić's In The Hidden won the Masé Studio Postproduction Award, worth CHF25,000 in postproduction services. Bryce Hodgson's Thanks To The Hard Work Of The Elephants was presented with The Music Library & SFX/Acorde Award, offering €45,000 in music supervision services.

The Masé Studio Award, worth CHF3,000, was won by Swiss director Valentin Merz for Dark Chocolate. Le Film Français's award of advertising space to a value of €5,600 was also won by Lunar Sway.

Restoration for a Classic

The 1975 film Letter From My Village by the late Senegalese filmmaker Safi Faye will receive a full restoration by the Cinegrell film lab for next year's Locarno Film Festival. This restoration will bring back to life a significant piece of African cinematic history.

Jenna Hasse's Upcoming Project

Jenna Hasse's upcoming atmospheric drama is set in the Zermatt ski and mountain resort during one Christmas. The details of this project are eagerly anticipated by fans and industry professionals alike.
