Gears of War: Reloaded Coming August 26 With Enhanced Graphics, Cross-Play
Gears of War fans are in for a treat with the upcoming release of Gears of War: Reloaded. This full remaster of the original 2006 title is set to launch on August 26, 2025, bringing enhanced graphics and gameplay to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will be priced at $39.99 and offers a range of features, including two-player co-op and 8-player online multiplayer.
Gears of War: Reloaded promises an expanded campaign and a full multiplayer suite, with support for 4K resolution and 120 FPS performance. Players can expect immediate access to all post-launch DLC and cross-play, cross-progression functionality. Additionally, those who previously owned Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will receive Reloaded as a free upgrade.
Microsoft is also working on an all-new entry in the series, Gears of War: E-Day, set earlier in the timeline. However, a release date for this title has not yet been confirmed. Notably, Gears of War: Reloaded will not be available on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 at launch, but no information is available about a potential future release on these platforms.
Gears of War: Reloaded marks a significant shift for the franchise, as it will be available on PlayStation for the first time, expanding beyond its traditional Xbox exclusivity. Fans can look forward to an enhanced gaming experience when the title launches later this year.
