Gaza faces genocide, according to Farinetti, but the street violence obscures the outrage

In the heart of Turin, Italy, on Tuesday, September 16th, theatrical producer Paola Farinetti participated in a demonstration against the ongoing genocide in Gaza. However, the peaceful protest turned violent, with Farinetti beaten for expressing unpopular opinions.

Farinetti, a regular participant in protests, found herself at the center of the chaos. This was the first time one of her demonstrations ended in violence. Despite the incident, Farinetti remains steadfast in her beliefs. She understands the anger of the young protesters but strongly condemns the violence.

Farinetti is disappointed in the lack of a common European Union position on Palestine. She believes that institutions taking a stance could help the situation. She also praises the determination of the young protesters leading the demonstrations in Turin.

However, work commitments prevented Farinetti from attending the regional march on Saturday. She will continue with her show on Monday, viewing it as a tool for expressing dissent and promoting non-violent thoughts.

The demonstration in Turin started joyfully and united. It turned violent when protesters targeted Carrefour, causing damage. Farinetti condemns this violence, stating it's not the best way to express dissent.

Farinetti also highlights the symbolic value of Mayor Salis recognizing the State of Palestine in Genoa. She believes such actions could help bring about change and end the genocide in Gaza.

Despite the violence, Farinetti remains hopeful. She believes dialogue and strong symbols are key to rallying young protesters and achieving their goal of ending the genocide in Gaza. She will continue to use her platform to advocate for peace and justice.
