Gauff, with some unease, snaps a selfie near Raducanu, following a swift victory over the latter within 90 minutes.

Coco Gauff tore through the Rome Open, securing a spot in the quarter-finals with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win over Emma Raducanu. The match, however, was a spectacle that left viewers both entertained and a touch uncomfortable.

As Gauff celebrated her win, she whipped out her phone to capture the moment. Little did she know that Raducanu was walking off the court, causing a bit of a media storm as she accidentally found herself in a few selfie snaps, seemingly lost in the backdrop.

The match saw Raducanu struggle to find answers against the impressive tennis play of Gauff, who swiftly gained a 3-0 lead in the first set. Raducanu, ranked World No.3, left fans wanting as she failed to showcase her full potential in the face of such tenacious play.

This accidental selfie incident added a touch of humor to an otherwise tense contest. Fans took to social media to share their reactions, finding the mix of Gauff's jubilant smile and Raducanu's unexpected appearance quite amusing.

Gauff's selfie tradition is well-known, but this particular one was certainly a crowd favorite. The incident highlighted the contrast between Gauff's playful nature and Raducanu's evident disappointment post-match.

Unfortunately for Raducanu, the biggest disappointment of the day was not making it past the round of 16. The British No.2 had made history by winning three clay-court matches in a row to reach this stage, but Gauff's exceptional performance proved too much to handle.

Gauff's impressive movement on the court proved too fast for Raducanu, who is relatively new to the clay court scene. Playing on clay is a rarity for her, with Monday's match being only her 21st compared to 81 games on hard courts.

Post-match, Gauff expressed her satisfaction with her performance, saying, "Emma is a tough opponent no matter what surface and always tough to play - so I'm happy with how I played." She further added, "Today I think my forehand was a big weapon, set me up for a lot of short balls and a lot of good points."

Now, Gauff paces herself towards a potential quarter-final clash, waiting to see who emerges victorious between Clara Tauson and the sensational Mirra Andreeva.
