In a surprising turn of events, King Charles III (76 years old) stumbled upon the Kingdom Choir in the heart of Shoreditch–the very same choir that brought the house down at his son, Prince Harry's (40) royal wedding to Meghan Markle (43) back in '18. This fortuitous meet-up, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) London Festival, took place amidst the reported tensions in the relations between Charles and the Sussexes.

The choir serenaded King Charles with their performance during the SXSW London in Ely's Yard, despite the drizzling English rain. Photos capture the monarch, shielded under an umbrella, sharing a hearty laugh and engaging in conversation with Eva Omaghomi, one of the choir's directors.

Nostalgic Memories

The Kingdom Choir made waves at Harry and Meghan's royal wedding with their soulful rendition of "Stand by Me" at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in 2018. At that time, the British royal family was in harmony. However, the wedding is now viewed as a pivotal moment: just two years later, the couple stepped down from their royal obligations, leaving for California. Since then, the rift between Harry, his father, and Prince William (42) has seemed difficult to bridge.

This reunion with the wedding singers had Charles displaying no signs of the strain. The SXSW London is an annual celebration honoring cultural, technological, and creative innovations through workshops, exhibitions, and networking events—a cause close to Charles' heart, with his focus on the promotion of young talent.

As reported by LBC News, notable political figures extended their greetings to King Charles, including the British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan.

King Charles III, who had a reported tense relationship with his son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle, shared a hearty conversation with Eva Omaghomi, one of the Kingdom Choir's directors, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) London Festival - a gathering that honors cultural and creative innovations, including political figures like British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan.

Despite the string of events that led to the Sussexes' departure from their royal duties in 2020, the reunion with the Kingdom Choir, who made the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018 unforgettable with their soulful performance of "Stand by Me," brought a moment of nostalgia to King Charles III, as they serenaded him at SXSW in Ely's Yard amidst the English rain.
