Gathering of Four Men, Examinations, and Initial Matches Commencement
Chatterbox: Hey there, bud! I've got the inside scoop on WSV, so let's dive right in!
Me: So, about that vacay, looks like we're sticking it out for now, huh? Work first, fun later! WSV's all about the team spirit, and you can bet your boots we'll be there for each other once the season wraps up. I'll grab some R&R during the season as promised, just keepin' the club happy, you feel me?
Chatterbox: Now, you mentioned the need for more central defenders, a striker, and a third goalkeeper. Any updates on that front after the departure of Riccardo Grym?
Me: Nah, nothing's changed, really. We were aware it might fall apart, so we got ready early. Boosted the midfield with some quality players, saw it comin', ain't surprised.
Chatterbox: When can we expect to hear about the last four signings?
Me: Hopefully, we'll wrap up three contracts this week, and announce 'em next week. We're lookin' for an experienced central defender to lead the team. Gotta be up for the task. We've got a crackin' squad, man.
Chatterbox: What's the goal for the upcoming season?
Me: First things first: securing our spot in the league. Wanna develop the team and take everybody along for the ride. Not the biggin'est budget in the league again, but we wanna make it count. All 'bout bein' a unit, a team, from the get-go. Wanna walk this path together with the community.
Chatterbox: Any early favorites for the season?
Me: Bocholt's got a solid squad, Fortuna Köln's stepped up their game too. Borussia Dortmund II can lean on a fantastic youth academy, bet they'll keep some of their third league players. Gladbach's always dangerous, Rödinghausen's cookin' something up...
Chatterbox: What do you think of the promoted teams?
Me: Bochum II's got potential, Bonner SC's always got a fierce lineup. The Sportfreunde Siegen, my take? They've got a massive potential, can see it in their signings. Could be another Lotte or Gütersloh, which are straight-up killin' itpoint-wise. Derbies against Spielvereinigung Velbert? Can't wait!
Chatterbox: Any test games scheduled yet?
Me: Yeah, we got one on June 28th. Behind closed doors. On July 5th, we're headin' to KSV Hessen Kassel for our training camp from July 1st to 6th. Our former coach René Klingbeil will be there too – good to know we're on friendly terms despite the split (laughs). On July 9th, we play against TuS Ennepetal, on the 12th against BV De Graafschap, and on the 16th against SV Schermbeck. Hope to finish the warm-up games against Westfalia Rhynern on July 19th at the Stadion am Zoo. Big season-opening event planned, more details soon!
Chatterbox: Last question: home game or away?
Me: Prefer that home opener, and here's why: we've applied for the season opener on July 26th at the Stadion am Zoo. Fingers crossed it'll work out!
- You might catch me discussing sports, especially football, given our team spirit at WSV.
- As we look for new signings, we're still on the hunt for a central defender, a striker, and a third goalkeeper, despite the departure of Riccardo Grym.
