Gathering in the pine grove

Astana's esteemed para-athletes from the "Elorda" sports club, under the city's local authority, joined a tree-planting initiative at the Qazaqstan athletics sports complex. Amid the participants were Sevda ALIEVA, a multiple Kazakhstan champion in para-shooting and Paralympic Games participant; Ardaq OTORBAEV, a national championship and Paralympic Games prize-winner in para-shooting; and Ali TURGANBEK, an international master of sports in para-rowing, multiple Kazakhstan champion, and silver medalist of the 2024 World Cup stage.

Prior to the ecological action, a meeting was held to review the first half of the year's achievements, discuss plans for the future, and prepare for upcoming events like the Paraspartakiada—a comprehensive competition featuring 17 sports and 189 participants—and the Deaflympics in Tokyo. Astana has four candidates vying for participation in the Tokyo Deaflympics.

In December, athletes from Astana are scheduled to participate in the Youth Para-Asian Games, focusing on para-canoeing and para-rowing. Following the meeting, awards were given to parents supporting the development of para-sports.

The head of the "Elorda" sports club for people with disabilities, Azaimat TOGAEV, highlighted the significance of the para-athletes' involvement in public initiatives like "Taza Qazaqstan." Syiazbek DALIEV, a Tokyo Olympics 2020 bronze medalist, Asian Games 2023 World Championship participant, and Paris 2024 Paralympics contender, underscored the importance of the republican action. DALIEV emphasized his role as a symbol of the Paralympic movement, striving to motivate people and children with disabilities, while also contributing to the country's development through sports achievements and environmental initiatives.

The "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental initiative has been gaining momentum across various Kazakhstan regions, with a focus on promoting environmental protection and sustainable development. Although specific information regarding other famous para-athletes participating in the "Taza Qazaqstan" ecological action in Astana is not readily available, it underscores the continuous collaboration between para-athletes and environmental initiatives.

Science plays a crucial role in understanding and mitigating climate change, which is a pressing concern for environmental-science researchers worldwide. The gathering prior to the tree-planting initiative at the Qazaqstan athletics sports complex not only discussed plans for upcoming sports events but also emphasized the importance of environmental initiatives such as the "Taza Qazaqstan" and the "Clean Kazakhstan" movements, reflecting a growing convergence of sports and environmentalism among para-athletes.
