Gathering for Lena Ludwig at the entrance hall
In the heart of Aschaffenburg, the city's Town Hall played host to a special event on Thursday, August 28. The occasion was a reception to honour the outstanding achievements of local swimmer, Lena Ludwig.
Mayor Jürgen Herzing, along with Karlheinz Stegmann, the 1st Chairman of the City Sports Association, graced the event with their presence. The gathering was also attended by Helmut Maier, the Head of Sports, and Svenja Lotz, Lena's youth coach. The Ludwig family was also present, sharing in the celebration of Lena's remarkable success.
Lena Ludwig, a shining star in the world of swimming, recently participated in the Junior Swimming World Championships in Otopeni, Romania. She showcased her talent and determination by participating in eight events. Her performances were nothing short of impressive, as she secured two silver medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events. Lena also placed 8th in the 50m breaststroke event, further solidifying her position as a successful swimmer.
Mayor Herzing expressed his pride in Lena's achievements and acknowledged the excellent youth work of the SSKC Poseidon swimming department. He also promised to discuss the construction of a 50-meter training pool in the relevant senate, a move that is sure to excite the city's swimming community.
The strong interest in swimming training at the club is evident, but unfortunately, they cannot accept new children at the moment due to capacity constraints. This underscores the need for a larger training facility to accommodate the growing number of aspiring swimmers in the city.
The reception was a fitting tribute to Lena Ludwig's accomplishments, and her youth coach, Svenja Lotz, was present to share in the joyous occasion. Lena's achievements have not gone unnoticed, with Mayor Herzing and Karlheinz Stegmann praising her efforts and expressing their pride in her success.
As the city of Aschaffenburg and the City Sports Association continue to support Lena Ludwig in her swimming career, it is clear that her future in the sport is bright. The community looks forward to seeing Lena continue to make waves in the world of swimming.
