Gather around for an extraordinary concert featuring Brian Eno, Paul Weller, Damon Albarn, Nadine Shah, and other renowned artists at the event "Together For Palestine".
On September 17, London's OVO Arena Wembley hosted a remarkable event, the Together For Palestine gig, organized by Brian Eno. The evening was filled with a medley of Palestinian traditional songs, interspersed with captivating performances from a variety of renowned artists.
Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, graced the stage, joining the likes of Primal Scream, Inhaler, Maverick Sabre, and Paul Weller who performed at the concert. An all-star performance was led by Brian Eno, Paul Weller, Damon Albarn, and Nadine Shaw.
The event was not just a musical spectacle, but also a platform for raising awareness and funds for Palestine. Gorillaz performed a brand new song titled 'Damascus', which was the first ever preview of a song from their upcoming album 'The Mountain'. The gig was also available as a live-stream, allowing a global audience to be a part of this significant event.
Eric Cantona, PinkPantheress, Richard Gere, Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, and Nicola Coughlan were presenters at the gig, adding a touch of glamour and gravity to the proceedings. Brian Eno read the Khaled Juma poem 'Oh Rascal Children of Gaza' during the show, underscoring the event's focus on the Palestinian cause.
In addition to the Together For Palestine gig, another charity event, named 'Gig For Gaza', is scheduled for next month, curated by Paul Weller. The funds raised from both events will be distributed to Palestinian-led organizations such as Taawon, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and Palestine Medical Relief Service.
The Together For Palestine gig raised just under £1.5million for the 'Together For Palestine Fund', a testament to the global community's support for the cause. The event was not just a concert, but a powerful demonstration of solidarity and humanity, bringing together artists, celebrities, and music lovers in support of a noble cause.
Billie Eilish, Finneas, Joaquin Phoenix, Cillian Murphy, Steve Coogan, and more lent their voices to a new message for Together For Palestine, further emphasising the global appeal and importance of the event. The evening concluded with a specially composed piece of music performed by Brian Eno, Paul Weller, Albarn, Adnan Joubran, Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor, and Shah.
Cat Burns, Rachel Chinouriri, Yasiin Bey, and Bastille's Dan Smith also took to the stage, rounding off a truly unforgettable night. The Together For Palestine and Gig For Gaza concerts serve as a reminder of the power of music and unity in raising awareness and funds for those in need.
