Gas supply cutoff in 17 neighborhoods: Homes identified as gas-connected are being shut down

In the chilly city of Yakutsk, residents of the Construction District are facing an unexpected challenge - gas disconnections, despite paying for individual heating systems and having positive diagnostics.

According to journalist Margarita Nifontova, this situation is causing concern, with some houses being shut off due to decisions by local authorities or utility providers. The journalist believes that 'Sakhatransneftegaz', the gas supply company, is essentially blackmailing residents and imposing disadvantageous conditions for both residents and Utility Companies (UCs).

Yakutsk Mayor Evgeny Grigoryev has identified the failure of technical inspection of apartment gas equipment and the failure of UCs to sign contracts with AO "Sakhatransneftegaz" as a major problem for many residents. In a recent statement, he ordered to strengthen work together with "Sakhatransneftegaz" on UCs that "sabotage this issue and create problems for their tenants".

Elena Gapon, an activist from YI, has also commented on the issue, mentioning vacant apartments and disconnections due to high tariffs. She urges 'Sakhatrindransneftegaz' to work with residents who haven't signed a contract and hopes for a constructive dialogue with the company.

A meeting between residents, 'Sakhatransneftegaz', and managing companies is scheduled for today, providing an opportunity for both parties to address the issues at hand. The journalist, in light of these circumstances, has urged 'Sakhatransneftegaz' to ensure that the rest of the residents should have gas in their apartments.

It's important to note that these gas disconnections might be linked to central administrative or infrastructure problems, regulatory enforcement, or heating system management policies rather than residents' individual compliance or payment status. The exact reasons for the disconnections in Yakutsk's Construction District remain unclear, and further investigation is required.

Local government communications or utility provider announcements from Yakutsk would provide a more precise explanation of the situation. As such detailed local administrative decisions are not typically covered in general Russia or broader region news summaries, it is advisable to keep an eye on local updates for more information.
