Gareth Burton takes helm at EA Technology as new CEO
EA Technology has named Gareth Burton as its new chief executive, starting on 9th February. The appointment brings in a leader with over 20 years of experience in enterprise software and global technology services. Burton replaces the previous CEO as the company looks to expand its hardware, software, and international reach.
Burton joins EA Technology from Orbus Software, where he served as CEO for several years. During his time there, he led a team of around 300 employees, more than doubled revenue, and returned the business to profitability. Before that, he held the top role at Thinkproject, overseeing a major transformation, driving revenue growth, and executing a series of acquisitions before selling the company to EQT in 2020.
Amanda Mesler, chair of EA Technology, welcomed the appointment, highlighting Burton’s deep software expertise and international leadership background. She noted his proven ability to scale businesses while delivering real value for customers. Burton himself expressed enthusiasm about taking on the role at what he called an important moment for the company. He aims to work closely with the team to grow its capabilities, expand its global presence, and continue providing meaningful results for clients.
The leadership change comes as EA Technology prepares to strengthen its hardware and software offerings. Burton’s experience in driving growth and transformation will guide the company’s next phase. His focus will be on international expansion and delivering enhanced solutions for customers.
