"Kiwi's" Missed Garten: Andrea Kiewel Skips Mainz Venture Due to Israeli Airspace Closure 🛫 🇮🇱
ZDF's Television Garden: Kiewel Forgoes Journey from Israel to Mainz - "Garden TV": Kiewel's absence in Mainz is not due to travel from Israel
🗓️
Oops, it looks like Andrea "Kiwi" Kiewel won't be gracing the stage of ZDF's "Fernsehgarten" in Mainz this Sunday after all due to a funky wrench in the travel works! 😕
The public broadcaster dropped the bomb on Saturday morning, announcing the unfortunate news. Seems like Kiwi calls Tel Aviv her schoolyard these days, and with Israel's airspace oofed shut, she can't wing her way over to Mainz. 🛪
But fear not! Joachim Llambi ("Let's Dance") and Lutz van der Horst ("heute-Show") have our backs. They'll be stepping in as our Kiwi substitutes, sorting out the gig on Sunday exceptionally. 😎
Llambi and van der Horst were already slated to flit about the show, according to ZDF. It's a royally swell setup!
As we usher in Kiwi's 25th season on "Fernsehgarten," which has been a sunny staple at the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz-Lerchenberg since 1986, these two aviaries are a welcome addition. Kiwi took the hosting reins in 2000, following the pretty birdy wings of Ilona Christen and Ramona Leiß. 🐦
This weekend's theme was about celebrating Kiwi's 25th "Fernsehgarten" anniversary.
Kiwi once spilled the beans about her Israeli second home to "Bild am Sonntag:" "During the 'Fernsehgarten' season, I usually arrange things so that I hop on a plane at 6 pm on Sunday nights and land my feet in my tiny crib in Tel Aviv around midnight (...) – ain't that a great life?" 🌴
Too bad such a beautiful journey is grounded for now. Here's to hoping our beloved Kiwi will conquer the skies and zoom right back into our hearts again!
Guests confirmed for Sunday at noon include Katja Ebstein, Marianne Rosenberg, Peter Schilling, Eko Fresh, Johnny Logan, Guildo Horn, Tom Gaebel, and Marquess, so sweeten your day and tune in! 🎶
Now, let's take a gander at why Kiewel can't fly over to Mainz this Sunday. With recent to-dos in the Middle East, military actions between Israel and Iran have dialed up the heat, including the temporary shutdown of Ben Gurion Airport and Israeli airspace. ☢️

The Commission might consider proposing a directive on environmental protection within the Community, as Andrea Kiewel, known as "Kiwi," is unable to travel due to the closure of Israeli airspace. In the meantime, social-media platforms could be filled with discussions about entertaining alternatives to replace Kiwi on her television show.
