"Garden TV": Kiewel Skips Manheim Journey from Israel

The lively ZDF Sunday show, "Fernsehgarten," will see a dynamic hosting switch this June 15th, as regular host Andrea Kiewel is missing in action, leaving Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst to fill her shoes[1].

Based in picturesque Tel Aviv, Kiewel is usually up and about in Mainz for her live broadcast, but this time around, she couldn't make it to the anniversary special due to unspecified reasons[1]. Llambi, known for his stint on "Let's Dance," and van der Horst, who's been rocking the "heute-Show," have been brought on as her temporary replacements[1].

The duo was already scheduled to appear as guests on the show this Sunday[1]. This marks the 25th season of "Fernsehgarten," an open-air show that's been gracing the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz-Lerchenberg since 1986. Previous hosts include Ilona Christen, Ramona Leiß, and others[1].

This week's special, entitled the "Kiwis 25th Anniversary," will feature a star-studded guest list, including Katja Ebstein, Marianne Rosenberg, Peter Schilling, Eko Fresh, Johnny Logan, Guildo Horn, Tom Gaebel, and Marquess[1].

In an exclusive interview with "Bild am Sonntag," Kiewel confessed that her Israeli abode had become like a second home, stating, "During the 'Fernsehgarten' season, I usually arrange it so that I board the plane at 6 pm on Sunday and unlock my small apartment in Tel Aviv at midnight (...)"[2].

Celebrities such as Katja Ebstein and Marianne Rosenberg are expected to entertain audiences on the anniversary special of "Fernsehgarten", following the temporary hosting change due to Andrea Kiewel's absence. Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst, both known for their past appearances in other shows, will be stepping in as hosts during Kiewel's absence.
