Gandapur denounces baseless accusations, issues threat to deceitful members within PTI over propaganda activities
In a series of remarks, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has addressed the internal divisions and political woes within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Gandapur has emphasized his efforts to secure the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently in jail due to cases related to the May 9 riots. He stated that no one has made as much effort as he has to bring Khan out of jail.
The Chief Minister has also reiterated Khan's stance on negotiations, saying if the other side is ready, they should sit down and talk. He criticized those who limit activism to social media, emphasizing that revolutions are not achieved through short videos or fake accounts.
Gandapur has admitted the existence of hypocrites within the PTI, referring to them as people pursuing an agenda that harms the party. He warned party members against causing harm to the PTI, stating that these hypocrites are causing internal divisions and weakening the PTI's goal of uniting and protecting the country and the Constitution.
The first goal of the PTI, according to Gandapur, is to unite and protect the country and the Constitution. However, internal divisions have hindered meetings, and the PTI has faced crackdown and mass arrests when attempting to hold public rallies and initiate movements.
Despite these challenges, large-scale marches and rallies have been held for Khan's release, Gandapur claimed. He attributes the party's losses to false allegations and political propaganda.
In addition, PTI lawmakers have been resigning from various parliamentary committees as part of Khan's political strategy to build political pressure. Gandapur denies creating the tensions and groupings within the PTI, claiming that some people in the PTI are working on an agenda.
Gandapur questioned if Afghan refugees were responsible for the overthrow of Khan's government, stating that revolutions are not achieved overnight and require sustained effort. He urged party members to focus on the PTI's goals and to avoid causing harm to the party.
The Chief Minister's remarks come days after he admitted tensions and groupings exist within the former ruling party. Gandapur called on party members to put aside their differences and work together to achieve the PTI's goals.
