The 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, have been a triumph for Taiwan, with the country securing a total of 12 medals[1]. Taiwan's impressive haul includes 5 gold, 6 silver, and 1 bronze medals, placing them 15th in the overall medal count[1][4].
The Taiwanese team's successes have been spread across various sports, with notable victories in tug of war, martial arts, roller sports, korfball, and weightlifting/squat events.
In the women's outdoor 500kg category of tug of war, Taiwan won gold for the sixth consecutive time at the World Games[1]. Another gold medal was secured by the mixed beach korfball team, who defeated the Netherlands decisively[1].
Yang Sen made history by setting a new world record in the squat event with a lift of 453.5 kg, earning Taiwan a gold medal[1]. Liu Chiao-hsi, on the other hand, clinched the top spot in the women’s inline freestyle slalom event in roller sports[3].
Silver medals were won by Huang Mei-chien in the women's bi fins 50m event in fin swimming[2] and by the women's team in the open eight-seater mixed 200m dragon boat event[4].
Bronze medals were secured by Liu Chang-min in the taolu nanquan-nangun combined men's event in martial arts[2] and by the mixed team in indoor korfball[4].
