Gaming enthusiasts unite at HAW's LAN Party event

Hey there, gaming freaks! 🕹️🎉

Got some sweet news for you all! About 200 of our awesome student gamers got together last Friday at the Berliner Tor Campus for the 13th HAW LAN-Party! Organized by our hard-working crew of LAN-Party masters, this retro-fueled gaming event was packed with exciting gaming tournaments, nostalgic gaming setups, and delicious grub. 😋

Gaming Galore! 🎮🌟

Our beloved HAW LAN-Party team turned the first floor of the campus Mensa into a gamer's paradise. Featuring a top-notch server setup for local gameplay, powerful computers for immersive VR adventures, and retro PCs and consoles from the Hamburg Retro-Spiele-Club, there was something for everyone! 🕹️🕹️🕹️

Veggie currywurst, lasagne, and non-alcoholic drinks were on the menu, courtesy of Team Captain Natalie Puls and the rest of the organizing crew. 🍔🌶️🍝

Tournaments with 3D-Printed Trophies! 🏆💪

One of the highlights of the LAN-Party was the gaming tournaments, where gaming enthusiasts could sign up and compete in their favorite titles against one another. Games like "Rocket League," "Mario Kart," and "Counter-Strike" were among the popular picks, and the last tournament of the night even had 3D-printed trophies up for grabs! Natalie Puls told our reporters that they focused on those trophies instead of big prizes since it's all about keeping emotions in check during gameplay. "Gaming is here to make us feel good and have fun!" 🎉

For folks who preferred more relaxed games or wanted to play their own computer setup, there were ample spaces and loaner computers available. The event even had its very own Discord server, allowing all players to communicate and form coordinated squads during the tournaments. 💬🎮

Star Wars Cosplayers Join the Fun! 🤖🌈

Not one to miss the party, members of the global "501st Legion" Star Wars Cosplay Club were in attendance! This amazing club, known for their high-quality Star Wars costumes, shared their cosplay magic with the event, taking pictures with fans and playing some rounds of the 21-year-old classic, "Star Wars: Battlefront." 🤖⭐️

Leading the charge amidst this intergalactic extravaganza was none other than Natalie Puls herself, currently obsessed with the Farming Simulator game from Giants Software. Despite the seemingly unappealing name, this farming-focused game has sold approximately a million copies since its release in November 2024[1].

Sports were separate but not excluded from the gaming festivities at the 13th HAW LAN-Party, as participants flocked to local gaming tournaments to challenge each other in games like "Rocket League," a popular sports-action game.

Virtually joining the lineup of retro and modern gaming setups was a special exhibition of Star Wars: Battlefront, featuring its cast of star warriors in impressive cosplay costumes from the 501st Legion Star Wars Cosplay Club.
