Game sales discontinuation: Evil Dead: The Game, released in the market three years ago, is getting pulled off the shelves.

Groovy Horror Game Evil Dead: The Game Vanishes from Digital Shelves

Execrable news for fans of multiplayer horror games, the groovy title Evil Dead: The Game has been taken down from digital storefronts across all platforms. Publisher Saber Interactive confirmed the removal, stating that servers will remain operational so players can continue their blood-soaked battles against Deadites. They thanked the community for their support and praised the game as offering "the best multiplayer horror experience since at least Dead By Daylight."

Evil Dead: The Game first vanished from the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam—leaving players wondering if it was a unfortunate oversight or a strange reshuffling. However, Saber's post on Steam confirmed the takedown is intentional and involving all platforms.

No concrete reason for the removal has been provided by Saber, who declined further comment. Yet, a plausible theory is that rights to the property or a crucial part of it have expired. While three years seems brief for such an agreement, it's been a common justification for game delistings like Forza Horizon 4, which was pulled in December 2024 due to expiring licenses (six years old at the time). However, this is not definitively confirmed.

Regardless of the reason, fans are disappointed by the withdrawal of Evil Dead: The Game, a title that received an 85% review from PC Gamer and is listed on Steam but no longer available for purchase. Interested gamers can still find the game on Steam key retailers, such as Fanatical, Green Man Gaming, GamersGate, or the Humble Store.
