Galan Lithium Limited (ASX:GLN) has secured a new exploration licence, E70/4889, located just 2 kilometres from the Tier 1 Greenbushes mine. This licence sits directly over a major geological fault zone, presenting high-impact exploration potential in Australia's premier lithium district. Galan is actively considering strategic news to quickly create value from its exploration portfolio, including Greenbushes and James Bay.
The new licence provides immediate access to explore geological continuity between Galan's existing Greenbushes South tenure and the world-class Greenbushes system. The Greenbushes deposit is controlled by the Donnybrook-Bridgetown Shear Zone, a major fault system that has channelled lithium-bearing formations for millions of years. The new tenure contains several key geological features that mirror those found at the productive Greenbushes mine, demonstrating the potential for discovering extensions of the world-class system.
Galan's planned exploration programme includes geophysical reinterpretation, ground-based geophysical surveys, soil and rock-chip sampling, and air-core/RC drilling. Galan's dual-asset strategy combines near-term production potential in Argentina with exceptional exploration upside in one of the world's most prolific lithium districts. Galan's combined resource inventory totals 1,785 million cubic metres of brine containing 841 kilotonnes of lithium.
