Disney's latest live-action adaptation, Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, faced a challenging run at the box office due to political controversies surrounding Zegler and broader geopolitical tensions affecting Hollywood.
Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen in the film, recently shared her thoughts on the movie's reception during an interview with Israel's Keshet 12's The A Talks. The film's underwhelming opening weekend performance, about $42.2 million, lagged behind previous Disney remakes, suggesting possible weakened audience interest. However, the film trended high on Disney+ after its release, indicating a strong streaming audience.
Although Gadot denied any personal tension with Zegler, the controversies surrounding Zegler’s social media and political statements became a liability for Disney, reportedly leading the studio to monitor her posts closely.
