Gahr High School Girls Basketball Advances to CIF State Division Championship
Gahr High School's girls basketball team secured a spot in the CIF State Division Championship after a dominant performance in the CIF Southern California Division IV game. The team, seeded fifth, defeated Banning High in the first round with a score of 57-34 on March 6, 2025.
The game was not close, with Gahr leading by as many as 31 points in the third quarter. Sophomore Ella Mims led the team in scoring with 12 points, also grabbing 16 rebounds. Junior Cameron Lacorte contributed 18 points, while senior Ambar Multani and junior Chloe Beard scored 13 points each. Beard had a strong first quarter, scoring seven points and dishing out a pair of assists.
Sophomore Mady Macaraeg added 13 points to the team's total, and Gahr was five of 24 from three-point land and scored on four offensive putbacks. Senior Simar Sogi made a three-pointer with 3:06 left in the first quarter, making the score 15-2.
