In the bustling city of Goa, the DPT Grand 2024 took place at the Deltin JAQK Resort, drawing a total of 320 entrants. This second edition of the DPT Grand was a significant event, marking the first time that winners were awarded DPT bracelets.
The tournament featured 15 events, each one a battlefield for the skilled poker players from across the country. Among the Indian players who made a mark were Devang Yadav, Ritwik Khanna, Pranay Chawla, and Sachit Malik.
Devang Yadav, a seasoned player with multiple titles under his belt, claimed victory in the NLH Bounty Championship. His win at the ₹25K MegaStack BPT title in 2020 and deep runs at the DPT, including a stint as a massive chip leader in a Main Event, have established him as a top live earner in the EPIC Poker series.
Ritwik Khanna, on the other hand, recently emerged as a force to be reckoned with, clinching the DPT Megastack Hyper Turbo Championship. His resilience and strong skills in intense competition were on full display during this win.
Other notable Indian players who performed exceptionally well at related high-stakes Indian live events, including some DPT participation, were Pranay Chawla and Sachit Malik. Both players have a history of consistent final table appearances and solid series cashes across multiple events.
Gagandeep Malik, a three-time DPT Champion, also made a significant impact. Although he didn't win the Main Event, he did secure a prize in the PLO 5 Bounty Championship, adding to his impressive track record. His best live cash of ₹5,960,000 at World Poker Tour Prime - WPT Prime India, Panjim, Goa, is a testament to his prowess in the poker world.
The PLO 5 Bounty Championship saw a competitive final table, with players like Piyush Baid, Sumukh K, Milena Mezhuieva, Udit Baid, Karan Sitlani, Sumit Chandani, and Sumit Mutha vying for the top spot. In the end, it was Gagandeep Malik who took home the prize.
Chirag Sodha, meanwhile, clinched victory in the Mystery Bounty Championship, adding another feather to his cap.
In addition to these Indian winners, Aditya Sushant triumphed in the High Roller Championship, and Raghav Bansal emerged victorious in the PLO Bounty Championship.
Ankit Bhansali, who took home a prize of ₹4,00,000 in the NLH Bounty Championship, and Naveen Kumar, who finished as the runner-up in the PLO 5 Bounty Championship with a prize of ₹1,71,482, also made impressive showings.
