GAC Launches in Australia as the ‘Toyota of China’ with Three New Models

GAC, a new Chinese carmaker, has entered the Australian market with three models: the Emzoom, Aion V, and M8. The brand aims to position itself as the 'Toyota of China', promising reliability and broad appeal to local buyers.

GAC’s arrival in Australia follows decades of partnership with major Japanese automakers. Since 2004, the company has worked alongside Toyota through GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture. This long-standing collaboration has shaped GAC’s approach to manufacturing, quality control, and teamwork.

GAC now offers three distinct models to Australian drivers. The brand’s history with Toyota and Honda suggests a focus on dependability and practicality. Time will show how local buyers respond to its mix of Chinese innovation and Japanese-inspired reliability.
