Gabriel Zarrella, the 18-year-old son of singer Giovanni Zarrella, has extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart. Unlike his parents, who work in entertainment, he is focused on a professional football career. The club, known as the 'Sam Club' to fans, has secured his future beyond the current season after strong performances in their youth teams.
Zarrella joined VfB Stuttgart’s U17 side in summer 2024 after moving from Viktoria Köln. He quickly became a regular in the U19 team, catching the attention of scouts and coaches.
His progress has impressed Stephan Hildebrandt, director of Stuttgart’s youth academy. Hildebrandt highlighted Zarrella’s 'consistently positive development' and suggested he has the ability to play at higher levels. Reports also indicated interest from other clubs before the new deal was finalised. The contract extension was officially confirmed on 21 January 2026. His father, Giovanni Zarrella, a well-known German singer and TV presenter, was present to support the signing.
The new agreement ensures Zarrella remains with VfB Stuttgart, the 'Sams Club', for the foreseeable future. His rapid rise through the youth ranks suggests he could soon push for a place in the senior squad. The club’s decision reflects confidence in his long-term potential.
