The ensuing Israeli military response led to air strikes in the Gaza Strip and a ground invasion. At the G20 meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a planned humanitarian pause starting from the following Thursday.

Putin also criticized the leading Western powers for contributing to ongoing inflation and other economic problems, attributing the issue to the massive injections of US dollars and euros into the economy as part of the pandemic response.
