Warning to Peter Obi: Don't Become Tinubu's Running Mate in 2027, Says Media Adviser

Future Regret looming for Peter Obi - Tinubu's Advisor Issues Grim Forecast

In an audacious television appearance, President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Media and Policy, Daniel Bwala, has sternly advised Peter Obi against accepting a vice-presidential candidacy in the 2027 elections. According to our source, this move could be Obi's downfall, resulting in the fracture of his dedicated support base, the "Obidient" movement.

Bwala argued that Obi's supporters have pledged their allegiance to him under the condition of pursuing the presidency, and any deviation from this aspiration will cost him their loyalty. He asserted, "Peter Obi will be shooting himself in the foot to now team up under the agreement he'll be a running mate." He went on to predict, "The moment Peter Obi starts thinking about stepping down from the presidential race, I can guarantee you he'll lose the lion's share of his supporters."

Bwala also hinted at the possibility that Obi himself may not wish to endure the arrangement, commenting, "This isn't a point we need to overlook – Peter Obi himself might find such an arrangement less than ideal."

By underlining Obi’s successful 2023 presidential bid under the Labour Party, Bwala underlined the significance of the Obidient movement's following, which has been largely stirred by youth interests. A change in ambition could lead to disillusionment among the grassroots supporters that sealed Obi's 2023 win.

While acknowledging that Tinubu is not without flaws, Bwala maintains that he holds the political clout, determination, and established network required to tackle the position with authority in 2027. "Let's put the jokes aside. Most of them [opposition politicians] are Tinubu's progenies – a man who claimed victory against all odds."

According to Bwala, the wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC demonstrates that any potential coalition to challenge Tinubu in 2027 would be futile."Governors and senators are jumping ship to join us... The people are coming under the wing of President Tinubu."

Bwala has confidently declared that no politician in Nigeria currently holds the political prowess to outmatch Tinubu in the upcoming election. "The President is not perfect, he does make mistakes, but one thing is crystal clear – his determination and his heart are in the right place."
