Future Freight Management: Geis Prioritizes Integration and Optimization
At this year's Transport Logistic event in Munich, the Geis Group made a significant impact with its largest network to date, showcasing strategic developments and new services that underscore its expansion in Germany and Europe.
The managing partners of Geis Group, Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis, welcomed trade fair visitors to their booth, inviting them to discover the group's logistics solutions and understand what moves Geis today. The event's theme, "Keeping Things Moving," perfectly encapsulated the group's mission.
One of the key highlights of Geis's presentation was the acquisition of agotrans Logistik GmbH, effective from July 1, 2025. This family-owned logistics provider based in Rodgau near Frankfurt specialises in national and European general cargo transport, part and full loads, contract logistics, and specialized automotive services. This acquisition strengthens Geis's activities in the economically important Rhine-Main region and expands its presence within the IDS network, a leading German general cargo cooperation.
The Frankfurt/Rhine-Main area has been strategically important for Geis, as it complements their existing road network perfectly. This move enhances their footprint in central Germany and bolsters their logistics infrastructure to better serve customers in this robust market.
Besides acquiring agotrans, Geis continued its growth by taking over other companies such as Gras Gruppe and Krüger forwarding company’s locations in Göttingen earlier in 2025. These steps collectively enhance Geis's position within the largest German piece goods cooperation (IDS) and strengthen their contract logistics and transport capabilities across Germany.
Sustainability is a focus at Geis Group's booth, with the introduction of a certified "Book and Claim" procedure for CO2 savings from HVO use in the transport sector. Customers can credit these savings to the Scope 3 of their climate balance with Geis's certified procedure. The group also highlighted ongoing expansion of existing partnerships, notably with Siemens AG, focusing on sustainable transport solutions including the use of HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuels.
An expert roundtable on "Lean Warehousing - current possibilities and future trends" will take place at Geis Group's booth on June 5 at 11:30 am. The roundtable aims to provide insights into modern concepts for efficiency improvement in the warehouse area.
The Geis Group's booth is located in Hall A5, Stand 115/216. At the fair, the group will present content-related developments in the business areas of Road Services, Logistics Services, and Air + Sea Services. The goal is to utilise the synergies between the business areas to offer customers integrated solutions.
The Geis Group will appear with around 10,000 employees in 14 European countries, focusing on a stronger position in Central and Eastern Europe. These acquisitions have led to broader geographical coverage and expanded the range of services within the entire group.
In summary, at Transport Logistic 2025, the Geis Group showcased its continued expansion through the strategic acquisition of agotrans Logistik, broadening its network and service portfolio in one of Germany’s key logistics hubs, while also advancing sustainability and integration within the IDS network.
The Geis Group, in addition to showcasing its strategic developments in logistics, announced its intention to enter the sports logistics sector with the acquisition of a sports-focused logistics provider, looking to solidify its position as a comprehensive logistics solution provider.
To further emphasize its commitment to sustainability and efficiency, Geis Group will host an expert roundtable discussion on "Lean Warehousing - current possibilities and future trends" in sports logistics at their booth during the Transport Logistic fair.
