SOUTHERN VIETNAMESE PROVINCE POISED TO BECOME GOLF TOURISM HUB

VUŨNG TÀU - In a significant move towards developing golf tourism, the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu House Development Joint Stock Company (HODECO) has entered into a strategic partnership with global sports and entertainment agency, 54. This alliance aims to establish the southern province as a leading destination for golf tourism.

The partnership is a crucial step in positioning Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu as a future tourism and investment hub, with golf being identified as a key tourism product. HODECO sees golf as a cornerstone of their sustainable tourism strategy, attracting resort real estate investments, golf tourism, festivals, and high-end living experiences, in addition to international events.

According to Chairman of HODECO's Board of Directors, Đoàn Hữu Thuấn, golf plays an essential role in cities and will contribute to promoting green growth, high-end real estate, and meeting the rising demands of tourism and investment. The company's flagship project, Wonderland, is a sustainably designed eco-tourism destination featuring luxury accommodations, recreation, and a unique 18-hole golf course, set to become a symbol of upscale living and world-class golf experiences in the region.

Executive Director of 54, Ben Styles, expressed his belief that Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu holds immense potential, with its strategic location, natural appeal, and potential to ascend as a leading tourism and investment hub in the region. This partnership aligns with broader sustainable tourism principles, focusing on balancing economic benefits with environmental stewardship and enhancing recreational offerings.

By developing golf facilities, the province anticipates stimulating local economic growth, creating jobs, and promoting responsible land use that preserves green spaces.

The National Tourism Development Strategy through 2030 identifies golf as a key tourism product. By leveraging partnerships like that of HODECO and 54, Vietnam can enhance its global sports tourism profile, attract international tourists, and encourage investments in infrastructure, contributing to national development goals.

Vietnam Standards (VNS) reported the partnership would focus on co-developing golf resort projects in the country's key tourism destinations, expanding green spaces, and creating premium living and working environments for professionals and investors.

This alliance underscores the growing emphasis on golf tourism in Vietnam's southern region, fostering a future where the region boasts a flourishing golf tourism industry while safeguarding environmental integrity, attracting investment, and enhancing the overall tourist experience.
