The much-anticipated new "Tatort" episode titled "Schützenfest" has commenced filming, with the production team setting up in Hannover and Hamburg until early August. The episode is expected to air next year, with a likely release during the autumn season, although an exact date has yet to be announced.

The storyline of "Schützenfest" revolves around a murder investigation, with the victim having made a mysterious call to the police before their death. Kommissar Hinrichs and his new partner, Rosalie Thomass, will lead the investigation. The identity of the victim and the circumstances surrounding their death remain shrouded in mystery, as the producers aim to keep key plot details under wraps.

The title "Schützenfest" suggests a storyline centred around a traditional shooting festival, an event often associated with local celebrations and potential crimes. The introduction of Rosalie Thomass as Hinrichs' new partner indicates that both the criminal investigation and the new team dynamics will be central to the plot.

Filming for "Schützenfest" took place during the Hannover Schützenfest, the world's largest of its kind. Thousands of spectators watched as shooting clubs, musical groups, fire brigades, historical vehicles, and carriages paraded through the city centre. Among the spectators were the episode's stars, Maria Furtwängler and Luise von Stein, who were filmed amidst the crowd in front of the New Town Hall.

The shooting march served as a film backdrop for the new "Tatort" episode, with a fictional shooting club from the film team involved. Filming also took place in a parking garage, although the role of the garage in the storyline is yet to be revealed.

The Hannover Schützenfest continues until July 13th, and last year, approximately 650,000 people attended the event. This year, organisers expect around 900,000 attendees. The festival is a significant event in the city's calendar, with a rich history and a vibrant atmosphere that provides an ideal setting for the "Tatort" team.

As the production team continues to work on "Schützenfest", fans eagerly await the release of the new episode, which promises to deliver an exciting and suspenseful crime story. With the talented cast and the unique setting, "Schützenfest" is set to be a standout addition to the long-running "Tatort" series.

The unique setting of the Hannover Schützenfest, with its rich history and vibrant atmosphere, serves as an ideal backdrop for the entertainment provided by the new "Tatort" episode, "Schützenfest."
