Fürth's 2026 Protest Day Demands Equal Rights for Disabled People

Fürth will host a European Protest Day for the Equal Rights of People with Disabilities on May 2, 2026. The event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature live performances, interactive activities, and speeches to highlight the challenges faced by disabled individuals. Organisers aim to push for greater inclusion and accessibility in society. The day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a drum performance by Fürth sambistas at Bahnhofplatz. At 11 a.m., Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Jung will officially open the event at Dr.-Konrad-Adenauer-Anlage, where the main activities will take place until 4 p.m.

Toni Klug will host the event, guiding visitors through a packed programme. Information booths will offer resources, while interactive activities encourage participation. The cultural programme includes musical acts by Alle Neune, The Green Rockets, and the AWO Singers, alongside dance performances and live art. Lebenshilfe Fürth will present a midday show by Hundert Wunder Theater. Other performers include Saxerei and the Knights of the Street. The event is organised by a coalition of groups, including Lebenshilfe Fürth, AWO, the Bavarian Red Cross, and Aktion Mensch.

The protest day seeks to draw attention to the daily barriers disabled people encounter. Through performances, discussions, and activities, organisers hope to foster a more inclusive community. The event will conclude after a full day of engagement and advocacy.
