Fürth bus routes rerouted as construction disrupts central station services
Passengers using Fürth's public transport system must continue to expect disruptions around the central bus station near City Hall. Due to ongoing construction work on the turning loop at Obstmarkt, the full resumption of regular services is now expected to be delayed until Friday, May 22.
The city of Fürth has announced that buses are still unable to access the turning loop at Obstmarkt. As a result, numerous routes have been assigned temporary stops along Königstraße. Travelers arriving from the main train station on lines 33, 173, 174, 177, 178, and 179 can board and alight at Königstraße 91, near the Jewish Museum Franconia. For trips in the opposite direction—coming from Poppenreuther Straße—the replacement stops are located in front of numbers 96 to 98, corresponding to the former Brandenburger Straße stop. The night buses N17, N18, and N20, as well as VAG's line 39, the VAG NightLiner services, and a school route on county line 126 will also use these temporary stops on Königstraße. The affected line 126 trips are those operating on school days from Dr.-Frank-Straße.
Line 175 follows a different diversion. Buses on this route between Poppenreuther Straße and Billinganlage will be rerouted via Kapellenstraße, bypassing the regular stops at Rathaus, Grüner Markt, and Maxbrücke without replacement. The Kulturforum will also not be served during this period. Instead, passengers can use the temporary stops on Kapellenstraße, located near the parking garage entrance and opposite the building at number 9.
To bridge the gap between Rathaus and Maxbrücke, passengers are advised to use the subway. Those arriving by subway and looking for the quickest walking route can reach the buses most easily via the Brandenburger Straße exit or the elevator at the Ludwig-Erhard-Zentrum. Pedestrians should also note that footpaths may change during different phases of the construction work.
