Fundraising Ice Hockey Event Supports Injured Personnel, Highlighted in Top Rankings

In an extraordinary display of camaraderie and support, the Cologne Fire Department and the Cologne Police will face off in a charity ice hockey game on June 4. The event, aimed at raising funds for injured colleagues from both teams, will take place at Cologne Arena 2, with the game starting at 3:30 PM.

The initiative for this heartwarming event was taken by Bernd Wiedemann. The Haie center, usually the home of the KEC, has generously made its facilities available for this special charity event.

Spectators are asked to make donations instead of purchasing tickets. A collection box will be available at the entrance of Cologne Arena 2, and the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Association for the Promotion of Fire Protection in Ratingen e.V. and the Police Foundation David + Goliath.

Cologne Police President Falk Schnabel and Mayor Andrea Blome, responsible for matters related to the professional fire department and emergency services, will attend the game. Both will be available for interviews at 3 PM. Representatives of both teams will also be available for interviews after the game.

The social welfare fund of Cologne Police e.V. has pledged to donate 100 euros for every puck, regardless of which goal it lands in. The total donation will be announced after the game.

The game will not involve competition in the traditional sense, as both teams are viewed as winners for their actions. Police President Schnabel expressed his gratitude to the players for their team spirit and solidarity with the injured.

Media representatives are welcome to attend the game. Press inquiries can be directed to the Cologne Police Press Office at Walter-Pauli-Ring 2-6, 51103 Cologne, Phone: 0221/229 5555, Email: [email protected]. The game is being covered by news aktuell.

For those unable to attend, the link to the Cologne Police website, where updates about the event will be posted, is: https://koeln.polizei.nrw.

Let's come together to support our brave first responders in their time of need. Your donations can make a difference!
